gratitude postcard #1 side a
i am so very happy to announce and invite you all to join me in a gratitude postcard swap!!! ever since i posted a short while back about the magic of being grateful, i have been wanting to do some kind of art project as part of my gratitude practice. during thanksgiving (remember i'm canadian) i was looking for gratitude quotes and found this web site. i absolutely loved LOVED loved the idea of creating postcards to express gratitude and thankfullness. then mary ann's awesome postcards pushed me over the edge and now i'm hooked! like i said before, i have postcard fever... then i thought, why not have a gratitude postcard swap so we can all support and encourage each other in being grateful AND creative!!! i think this is a fabulous idea and i hope that you'll join me!!!

the rules are simple and there are only two:
(1) the postcard size format here is 4"x6" and you can use any medium you choose (fabric, felted, paper collage, painting, anything...)
(2) the only limitation is that they have to be flat and fit inside a flat envelop for shipping. i'm all for dimensional embellishments, but i'd like to keep the shipping of these postcards affordable. so any medium as long as it's flat.
i'll keep the info to a minimum for now, if you are interested please email me at atrinkettreasury at gmail dot com or leave me a comment and once i see how many are interested then i'll email the group with the full details. you don't have to commit 100% just yet... just let me know if this interests you at all. i hope a few of you are interested so i'm not swapping with myself!!! booooooring!!! ;)
well i'm putting this out, we'll see what comes of it.
other than my frenzied postcard making, i've been busy getting things ready for halloween (yikes only a couple days away and still so much to do!!!) and also for this weekend's dia de bloglandia. there's still time to join if you were interested... check out stephanie's fantastic sugar skull tutorials here and here.
come visit me on halloween day (well my halloween post will go up thursday night) as i'll be having a super fun halloween giveaway!!! i'll post the winner on saturday night. yay!!!
until next time
peace and love

Although I have never made a postcard before....I'm totally IN! I adore, ADORE, snail mail coming and going! I'll email you when I get a chance (gosh there are a lot of fantastic sites to visit today).

i really like the idea of the postcard swap. I'm not 100% committed but I might be in. I'd like more info.
My son and I went to a sugar skull making class this past weekend and we had a lot of fun.

I am also not totally committed but if it's not too late I would love more information. It sounds like a great way to be nice to someone else.
Please let me know all the details....by the way....I just found your blog by chance and was excited to see this swap. There are so many things to be grateful for. I think people don't stop and think about them often enough.

Jennlui,
what a fabulous idea!!! Thanks for the link to www.IamThankful.com and thank you so much for inspiring others to join in with you! The swap sounds great. I've been browsing your site and am floored with all that pours out of you... wow! Please be in touch, I'd love to see how your swap turns out and would love to post any postcard images you'd like to share at Iamthankful.com. Expressing gratitude art-fully is just, well, food for the soul and ripples infinitely. The response I've had since I launched the site has been great and every card or journal post that trickles in moves me. With Thanksgiving coming up, I think it is even more crucial to spend more time truly reflecting on the gifts we receive every day, every moment... much more important that planning the perfect event or holiday meal. Nonetheless, I am grateful for this special holiday as it shifts our focus, wheter the shift is momentary or lasting.
Happy Creating!
Blessings,
Damaris
