"here now" mixed media painting
on 4"x4" stretched canvas
we inhabit ourselves
without valuing ourselves,
unable to see that here, now,
this very moment is sacred;
but once it's gone
it's value is incontestable.

welcome to my very first contribution to sacred life sunday! i am so very happy to be committing once a week to this and giving you little glimpses into the sacred moments in my daily life. this week i started reading this book, and within i found the quote above. i always get so moved when reminded that i need to enjoy the moment and reconnect with my intentions to live fully every single day. i know this in my heart, but sometimes get sidetracked a little. being inspired, i painted "here now" as a reminder of this. i'm really frustrated with my scanner today... usually we get along great, but i think with all the gold metalic paint in this piece, the scan showed up a little lighter than usual. in person the colors are much richer... grumble... well when i get a sunny day here i'll take pictures and will share.
things on my mind...
~later this week, or perhaps even next sunday for sacred life sunday, i'll be sharing with you the little ritual i did over the weekend. it's a little ritual i do when i feel stuck and my energy stagnant. it's for when i struggle with something and need some clarity. it invloves my favorite special ganesh, a piece of paper and a candle. it always seems to do the trick...
~just discovered julia's lovely blog, and her self-portrait photo project which i have joined! i'm so excited!!! i am so in love with the concept of expressing who i am through my most special possessions. i'll also be posting my pictures for this on my own blog, so stay tuned.
~mmmmm i had something else i wanted to add... but now i can't remember... well i'm sure i'll remember at 3am ;)
have a beautiful monday
until next time
peace xox
